Tecno Spark 50s and Spark 50C Unveiled with 120Hz LCDs, Android 16

Tecno has unveiled the Spark 50s and Spark 50C with 6.78-inch 120Hz LCDs and Android 16. Check the specs, battery, cameras and how the two phones differ.
Tecno has added two new phones to its Spark 50 family: the Spark 50s and a surprise entry, the Spark 50C. They share a large 6.78-inch 120Hz screen and Android 16, but they are built for different buyers. The 50s is a 5G phone aimed at performance and battery life. The 50C is a 4G phone aimed at durability.
The Spark 50 range already included the Spark 50 4G, Spark 50 5G and Spark 50 Pro, so these two fill out the lower and middle end of the lineup.
Tecno Spark 50s: 5G, a bigger battery and 45W charging

The Spark 50s runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400, a 6nm chip, with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. A dedicated microSD slot takes cards up to 2TB, so you don't have to give up a SIM slot for extra space.
The 6.78-inch screen is an HD+ LCD (720 x 1576) with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling and up to 560 nits of brightness. A punch-hole holds the 8MP selfie camera, and the back has a single 50MP camera with an LED flash.
Battery is the headline. The 6,500mAh cell charges at 45W and supports bypass and reverse wired charging. Bypass charging feeds power straight to the phone while it's plugged in, which helps if you game with the charger connected.
Other details:
- IP64 Pro dust and splash resistance, plus MIL-STD-810H certification
- Side-mounted fingerprint scanner
- 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C and Bluetooth 5.3
- HiOS 16 on top of Android 16
Tecno Spark 50C: a 4G phone with stronger water protection

The Spark 50C is the simpler phone on paper. It uses the MediaTek Helio G81 with 4GB of RAM and offers 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage. The 6.78-inch 120Hz HD+ LCD (720 x 1600) works with wet or oily fingers.
It has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera. The battery is 5,200mAh with 15W charging, which is slower than the 50s.
Where it pulls ahead is protection and extras. The 50C carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, a step above the 50s on water and dust resistance. It also has stereo speakers, an IR blaster, AI call noise cancellation and a dedicated microSD slot. Colours are Burgundy Red, Forge Orange, Basalt Titanium and Eclipse Black.

Our take
The Spark 50s is the stronger all-rounder, with 5G, a faster chip, a larger battery and quicker charging. The 50C is worth watching for buyers who care about water resistance and stereo sound more than raw speed. Final value will depend on local pricing.
